The site "Languages of the world" is intended for
Belarusian language speakers. But English speakers also can find some
useful information here.
I would like to conduct a short tour of the
site. It consists of several sections:
Ìîâû Áåëàðóñ³ (Languages of Belarus).
This section is dedicated to the languages
of Belarus. The articles are in different languages. Here you will find
the Belarusian language grammar
in English (Introduction, Alfabet, Noun, Numeral, Pronoun), the map of the
Belarusian dialects and an article about the Belarusian Creol language.
You can find also some
information about the Westpalesian
language.
Ïðàåêò ÒÁÌ (Belarusian Language
Society project).
This part of the project is conducted under the aegis of the Belarusian
Language Society and comprises works of linguists from different countries
and dedicated to the Belarusian language (in different languages including
English). All the materials are placed here by authority of the authors.
Ñåì'³ ìî¢ (Language families).
This section contains a list of language families. Click on a family name
and you will find a register of the languages which belong to the family.
If there is any additional information the language name is linked (just
click it and you will be redirected to extra data).
Êðà³íû ³ ³õ ìîâû (Countries and their
languages). In this part one can find short description
of languages by the countries they are spoken in.
Àëôàâ³òû (Alphabets).
A list of different alfabets which exist or existed in this world and also
in parallel worlds :):)
Ìàïû (Clickable maps).
There are two maps for today. One
is the map of Europe which redirects to the description of European countries
and their languages (see also section Countries
and their languages). The second
one allows to have a look at European countries languages in graphic form
(colour linguistic maps). Today I have maps of Spain, Portugal, France,
Belgium, Netherlands, Great Britain, Ireland, Switzerland and Cyprus
²íäýêñû (Languages and dialects
index). You may have a look at names
of European languages in Belarusian.
Íàøûÿ ñÿáðû (Our friends).
Useful links to the sites about the Belarusian language (short English
language description available).
Ìî¢íûÿ íàâ³íû (Linguistic news).
Linguistic news from all over the world (mainly from Europe). The main
section is in Belarusian, but I have a separate page with linguistic
news from Belarus in English. If you are interested in spreading of
any information about your language or languages of your country,
send your information (in any language), please.
